Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first trophy for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in especial - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and finally separating with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since spring of that year.

Success also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children at once, so to win a championship is really nice," said world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to perform at the top level was over.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a decider.

He rescued four initial chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
